Memorial Day Weekend

To relive a little of our first Memorial Day in CA we trekked up to Lake Tahoe for the long weekend.

The drive started with a clear sky and a babbling brook.

Then it started to snow!

And Dada reminded me of how much fun snow ball throwing can be.

(I am not sure what was more beautiful, the snow or watching the boys enjoy the snow)

We stopped at Emerald Bay on the way up, still beautiful 3 years later.

And then it was time to swim!

I didn’t let the cool weather slow me down.  I did the slide all by myself…

and was a pro jumper and snorkeler!

One more roar along the lake before heading back home.

Carrot

Myron grew his first carrot (just like Curios George). 

He was so excited to eat it!

Solar System

This was our evening project – making the solar system!

Complete with a sun, Mercury (my favorite planet because everything melts there), Venus, Earth (and the moon), Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.  Adding the moon was my idea, and Mama loved it!

Yard Sale

We had our first yard sale this weekend.  I sold, fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee, and lemonade!

I was very good at selling, I asked everyone “Would you like orange juice or coffee?” (saying no was not an option). With my mad money I picked out “a space rocket with real boosters and a launch pad!”

We have had several trips to Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars!

Mother’s Day 2012

In 2010, Mother’s day included a riverside walk and almost rattle snake strike/attempted bit for Mama. This year included a riverside bike ride but this time the snake was gopher snake (pictured above) with no interest in biting us.

Myron was very excited for Mother’s day this year.  He proudly picked out a “whisk-er” for me (a hand crank mixer).  I think he combined whisk and mixer, regardless of it’s origin, it’s cute.  We happily used the ‘whisk-er’ Sunday morning but I have yet to find a function for the new measuring cups.  :)

Dance

Mama visited my dance class today, it was great! I showed her my 5 ballet positions.

Then it was time to shuffle shuffle tap and dance like a boogie baby.

We ended with some wild creature dance (today I was a sleeping/spinning/running zebra).

Spring in CA

This weekend we cleaned out the garage and ate a lot of fun meals outside.  Here is our lunch on Saturday.  Homemade rosemary focaccia, kumquat salad, and iced mango tea. I helped with all of it! I picked the rosemary and kumquats, put olive oil on the focaccia, and poured in the tea leaves! I even helped with the picture. 

Myron: “Wait, wait Mama… I will do something funny”  (and then he proceeds to ‘pretend’ to pick his nose… yes, pick his nose).

Mama: (laughing), “You think you're funny huh..”

Myron: “Yeap”

Mama: “How funny?”

Myron: “This funny”
